Offshore team cost in 2026: rate benchmark

What a designer, writer, social media manager, marketer or developer really costs in the US versus an offshore team, with sources.

In 2026, a full-time offshore creative or digital professional through a managed partner starts from about $500 per month, all-in, and runs to roughly $2,600 for the most senior roles. The equivalent US hire costs about $4,500 to $13,500 per month once salary, benefits, taxes and overhead are counted. So an offshore team typically saves 80 to 90 percent per role, with no recruiting fees.

Last updated: 14 June 2026. Figures below combine published 2026 US and India salary data (sourced) with dpoint’s own all-in managed rates. US figures are fully loaded, base salary plus roughly 30% for benefits, payroll taxes, equipment and overhead, which is the real cost of an employee, not the headline salary.

How much does an offshore team cost in 2026?

A full-time offshore creative or digital professional through a managed partner starts from $500 per month, all-in, up to about $2,600 for the most senior roles. The equivalent US hire costs about $4,500 to $13,500 per month fully loaded. Across the roles most companies actually need, design, content, social, marketing and front-end development, offshore staffing saves 80 to 90 percent per role, with no recruiting fee.

That gap is why a single US salary can fund a whole offshore team. It is also why the global outsourcing market is projected to reach $1.11 trillion by 2030, up from $854.6 billion in 2025 (eSparkinfo, 2026), while 72% of employers say they cannot find the local talent they need.

Cost by role: US fully-loaded vs offshore (2026)

All figures in USD per month. “dpoint” is the all-in managed rate (the person plus recruiting, payroll, equipment, compliance and management). “US fully loaded” is base salary plus ~30% overhead, divided by twelve.

What does “fully loaded” actually mean?

A US salary is not what an employee costs. Add employer payroll taxes, health insurance and benefits, software and equipment, recruiting fees, and the ramp time before a new hire is productive, and the real cost runs 1.25 to 1.4× the base salary. A $90,000 designer costs $112,000-$126,000 a year to employ. The offshore comparison should always be against that loaded number, not the headline salary, which is how the savings reach 80-90%.

One US salary, a whole team

Because the per-seat gap is so large, the more useful way to think about budget is not “what does one offshore person cost” but “what does my current budget buy.” For roughly the fully-loaded cost of one mid-level US hire (~$3,000/month), dpoint builds a managed team of four, for example a content writer, a designer, a social media manager and a digital marketer. Does cheaper mean lower quality?

No, if you hire on vetted skill and manage properly. The cost difference is currency and cost of living, not capability. India produces 2.2 million STEM graduates a year (Meritorious, 2026), English is a primary working language in its professional sector, and experienced designers, writers and developers ship for global brands every day. Quality risk comes from unvetted, unmanaged hiring, which is exactly what a managed team removes. See our guide to hiring an offshore team.

How dpoint prices it

  • All-in, per seat, per month. One number covers the professional, recruiting, vetting, payroll, equipment, compliance, IP assignment and management.
  • No recruiting fees. Most agencies charge 15-25% of salary to place someone; we don’t.
  • Published rates. The full rate card is on the site, by role and seniority, no “contact us for a quote.”
  • Fixed in writing. Your exact quote is confirmed before you commit.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to hire an offshore designer in 2026?

A full-time offshore graphic or UI designer costs roughly $600 to $1,400 per month all-in through a managed partner like dpoint. The equivalent US designer costs about $4,800 to $8,500 per month fully loaded (salary plus ~30% benefits and overhead), so you save around 85 percent.

How much does an offshore content writer cost?

An experienced offshore content writer costs about $500 to $1,200 per month full-time, versus roughly $4,500 to $8,000 per month for a fully-loaded US writer. That is an 85 to 89 percent saving, with no recruiting fee or benefits load.

How much does a full offshore marketing team cost per month?

A complete offshore marketing pod, a digital marketer, content writer, designer and social media manager, costs roughly the fully-loaded monthly cost of one mid-level US marketer (about $3,000 to $7,000), depending on seniority. You get a managed team for the price of one in-house hire.

Why is offshore staffing cheaper without being lower quality?

The cost gap reflects local cost of living and currency, not skill. India alone produces over 2.2 million STEM graduates a year, and experienced professionals serve global clients at rates that are excellent locally but a fraction of US payroll. Quality depends on vetting and management, not geography.

Are there hidden costs in offshore hiring?

With a managed partner the monthly seat price should be all-in, recruiting, payroll, equipment, compliance and management included. Hidden costs appear when you hire raw freelancers and absorb vetting, coordination, rework and turnover yourself. dpoint publishes a flat per-seat rate with no recruiting fees.
